The Ojai Unified School District’s (OUSD) Board of Education met Tuesday in its first regular meeting since receiving the 7-11 Committee’s report on surplus elementary school property. The board decided to add a special meeting to its calendar May 3, to discuss the volunteer committee’s report.
A standing-room-only crowd attended and several took the opportunity to address the board in support of keeping Meiners Oaks Elementary School.
The 7-11 Committee voted March 3 to recommend closing the Meiners Oaks campus, but in its final report to the School Board recommended keeping all five OUSD elementary schools open.
