14-year-old arrest on suspicion of making threats

A 14-year-old student was arrested Wednesday at Matilija Junior High School after allegedly threatening fellow students and staff, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office (VCSO).
A letter to Matilija families from Principal Bill Rosen sent Thursday stated, “there is no evidence that Matilija students and staff were in actual danger.”
The student, who lives in Oak View, was booked into the Ventura County Juvenile Hall Facility Wednesday for making criminal threats, according to VCSO. The investigation is ongoing.
