The Ojai Unified School District’s (OUSD) 7-11 Committee drafted its final report Wednesday and will review it at a “five-minute meeting” April 13 prior to submitting it to the School Board.
The 11-person committee was formed in October as part of a state-mandated process for school districts considering closing a school. The group was tasked with making recommendations to the OUSD regarding elementary school capacity, surplus property, uses of that property and other options, including whether the district should close an elementary school.
The group reviewed capacity data, enrollment projections, reports on the conditions of school sites, heard from principals, teachers and ultimately many parents turned out — including many Spanish-speaking parents from the Meiners Oaks community.
