Meth arrests are area’s most numerous

Between Sept. 1 and Feb. 29, 201 people have been arrested and charged with narcotics-related crimes in the Ojai Valley according to data from the Crime Analysis Unit of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO). Of the 228 charges filed, 165 were specifically related to narcotics, including 127 counts for methamphetamine, 30 to benzodiazepines, 25 to MDMA (ecstasy), 23 for heroin, 15 for prescription opiates and seven for cocaine.

Marijuana, a non-narcotic, was involved in 94 arrests.
