The Golden State Water Company (GSWC) has rejected a bid to buy its Ojai service area. “Our Ojai system is not for sale,” Denise Kruger, senior vice president of regulated utilities for GSWC, wrote in a press release Friday. “Golden State Water has proudly served the Ojai community for more than 85 years, and we look forward to providing reliable, safe water service for generations to come.”
The statement came on the heels of a Feb. 26 purchase offer of $23.7 million from the Casitas Municipal Water District (CMWD) for the tangible and incidental intangible property and property rights and assets of GSWC’s Ojai operation.
