The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has concluded its investigation of the Oct. 30 traffic collision that claimed the life of Ojai resident Adan Lara. A recommendation of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, a misdemeanor, will be made to the Ventura County District Attorney's office, according to CHP information officer Rolando Tejeda.

Lara, 57, was part of a Ventura County Public Works crew clearing a drainage ditch on Creek Road when he was struck by a 2012 Honda Accord driven by Lisa Clapier.
