Predicted El Niño weather doesn’t worry Ojai Valley citrus growers as much as the potential for damage due to pests.

A new phase in the Ojai citrus community’s fight against the Asian citrus psyllid (ACP) is on the horizon. Though a formal decision has not been made, the implementation of an area-wide management strategy for ACP is imminent, according to John Krist, CEO of the Ventura County Farm Bureau.

Since ACP detections are rising, the Ventura County ACP-HLB task force will likely implement an area-wide management strategy.
