Tuesday will be a big day for short-term vacation rentals in the Ojai Valley.
The Ojai City Council is expected to discuss how these will be regulated in the city of Ojai going forward, and the Ventura County Board of Supervisors will hold a public workshop on the same matter for the unincorporated Ojai Valley.
The existing regulations for both the city of Ojai and surrounding communities predate the Airbnb and VRBO boom. In Ojai, since the mid-1990s, the legal route for operating a short-term vacation rental in a residential zone involved going to the Ojai Planning Commission to obtain a conditional use permit (C.U.P.).
