Markers show where native plants are now growing along Stewart Canyon Creek.
The area around Montgomery Street, near the Libbey Park tennis courts, looks a little different these days. That’s because The Concerned Resources & Environmental Workers (C.R.E.W.) has been working on a restoration project along Stewart Canyon Creek there.
The project started in June 2014 and will continue until March 2016. Funded by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, C.R.E.W. workers are restoring more than 2,500 linear feet of Stewart Canyon Creek by removing invasive plants, trees and vegetation from the Fox Street barranca along Creek Road to its confluence with San Antonio Creek.
