A plan to construct a retro trailer camping park is the latest in a string of proposed uses for the Ojai Valley Bowl property.

After more than two decades of slowly crumbling disuse, the former Ojai Valley Bowl property could be on a roll. A Santa Barbara-based group, Mesa Lane Partners, has submitted a proposal for concept review by the Ojai City Planning Commission.
According to that proposal, the plan would be to develop the property as “a design-forward boutique RV resort … which would offer guests a highly curated outdoor camping-style experience …”
It would not be the kind of campground at which travelers arrive in their own recreational vehicles, though. Rather, accommodations would be provided in restored vintage Airstream RVs, which would remain on site and be operated similarly to a boutique motel.
