Use fees at the Lake Casitas Recreation Area are about to get a little higher. The Casitas Municipal Water District (CMWD) Board of Directors voted Wednesday to increase rates at the recreation area, some as early as Nov. 1.
Park Services manager Carol Belser provided the Board with a chart showing the relationship between the recreation area’s revenues and expenses for the past 15 years, with expenses taking the upper hand since 2008. Administrative costs and overhead, she said, accounted for the larger portion of the expenses, while cost-of-living increases for staff played a secondary role.
