The first two tournaments of the Front Nine Golf Club’s pre-holiday session have been played under very warm conditions at Soule Park. Week one was played Sept. 17 with the tournament winner selected by least putts.
Jodi Martin and Debra Main tied with just 15 putts during their round.
The longest drive for the white sheet went to Holly Mitchem at 187 yards and the blue sheet winner
was Peggy Brown. Chis Malzone won closest-to-the-pin on the third hole with a solid tee shot.
The second week’s play was a Toss Two Tournament. Each player was allowed to scratch off their worst two holes of the round before the cards were tallied. The winner was decided by the remaining seven holes with handicap applied.
Mitnee Duque came in first with Marcia Ford and Chris Malzone tying for a close second. The longest drive of the day also went to Duque (188 yards) with Ford coming in second. No drives held the number three green for closest to the pin.
Six more tournaments remain in this session and it is not too late to join the action. Interested players wishing to join this every-Thursday event should contact Duque at 798-3934 for additional information on the Front Nine group.
