The Ojai Valley Sanitary District's (OVSD's) plan to improve nearly 21,000 feet of main sewer lines appears to be moving on schedule and under budget. Its Board of Directors was unanimous Monday in awarding the contract to the Huntington Beach-based Sancon Engineering, according to OVSD general manger Jeff Palmer, who said the work would likely commence in mid-August.
"We got an extremely competitive bid," Palmer said. "The engineer's report had estimated the work at about $800,000, and the low bidder came in at $540,000."
