Ventura County Supervisor Steve Bennett has added his voice to the issue of repairing the Ojai Playhouse/Village Jester. In a July 9 letter addressed to the Public Advisor's Office of the California Public Utilities Commission, Bennet asks the CPUC to "use whatever means available to pressure Golden State Water Company to immediately complete the repairs necessary to allow the Ojai Playhouse and the Village Jester to re-open for business."
Bennett, who represents District 1 on the Ventura County Board of Supervisors, forwarded copies of the letter to Ojai Mayor Severo Lara, California State Sen. Hannah Beth Jackson, California State Assembly Member Das Williams and California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones.
"The Ojai Playhouse is a key element to the economic vitality of the City of Ojai," the letter reads in part. "This delay certainly appears to be retribution to the community for their vote to buy out the water company."
