We’ve got the cure for the summertime blues

If you’re a parent, you’ve probably heard this before: “Mom, I’m bored!”
Whether you’re looking for a place to spend the day as a family, or you’re just looking to get the kids out of the house for the day, there’s lots of ways to avoid that dreaded summertime sentence here in the Ojai Valley.Let’s all go!
• Lake Casitas
Though the drought is in full swing, Lake Casitas is still open for camping, boating, fishing, hiking and disc golfing, as well as splashing around (just not in the lake itself). The splashing happens at the Casitas Water Adventure area, which is open every day in the summer through Aug. 23, and on select weekends after that through mid-September.
