Pine trees in a historic grove above Ojai’s East End are among millions in California suffering from the drought and a beetle invasion. “We’re seeing trees weakened by the drought, and due to that we’re seeing increased bark beetle activity on the forest. And from this activity, we’re starting to see a lot of trees fade out and die,” said Greg Thompson, forester with the U.S. Forest Service, Los Padres National Forest.
