Casitas Springs resident Melissa Baffa has been awarded a spot as a science communication fellow on an upcoming leg of the Nautilus Live Expedition. She will be aboard the ship for about three weeks (May 29 to June 19), on the leg of the trip exploring the Gulf of Mexico and the eastern Pacific Ocean.
Baffa holds a bachelor of science degree from California Lutheran University and a teaching credential from California State University-Northridge.
