The city of Ojai is slowly recovering from the 2008 recession and the 2012 California dissolution of redevelopment agencies, but Ojai city staff are still being cautious in budgeting for the next fiscal year.
“This community received over $150 million per year in property tax through its redevelopment agency during the life of that agency,” explained Ojai City Manager Rob Clark at Tuesday’s Ojai City Council meeting. “In 2012, the state, in its wisdom, decided to dissolve these agencies.”
