Last week, officers with the Humane Society of Ventura County seized 12 cats and eight kittens from a property in Fillmore. The animals were living in unsanitary conditions which caused many of them to contract a respiratory illness. Traps have been set at the property to catch any remaining animals, and the investigation is ongoing. Recently three horses were also seized from the same property and owner.
