She's been called a homewrecker, but Lake Casitas' newest bald eagle — referred to as No. 97 — is beginning to settle in with her new boyfriend.
Originally from the Channel Islands, No. 97 apparently attacked the lake's original female as well as her two chicks. Both chicks are thought to be dead, and the original female has left the lake. Despite possible sightings in Meiners Oaks, there has been no confirmation that the injured, displaced female is still alive.
