The Measure J Oversight Committee has been selected, the Valley Oak Charter School renewed, a pilot program at Matilija Junior High will combine English and social studies, and new common core math books have been approved. And that was only the first two hours of the Ojai Unified School Board meeting this week.
From 16 applications received, the board approved nine members to make up the Measure J Community Oversight Committee. Pursuant to requirements of the bond measure approved last year by local voters, the Oversight Committee will collaborate with the Board and staff as the district moves ahead using bond funds for projects to improve, update and maintain district facilities.
