Horse, livestock owners team up to handle new manure rules

As state regulators form new rules about manure runoff in the Ventura River Watershed, Ojai Valley horse and livestock owners are being encouraged to join the local Horse and Livestock Watershed Alliance (HLWA) so they can participate in that rule-making process.
“To have a say in the regulatory mechanism, horse and livestock owners need to contribute input to the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board (LARWQCB),” said Dana Bogdanich, environmental specialist with the Ventura County Resource Conservation District.
