The Ojai City Council reviewed city priorities and the enforcement of zoning in Ojai’s only manufacturing district Feb. 10 at Ojai City Hall. Discussions underscored the difference between how city staff and council members want to run the city, and current impediments to doing so.
A consent calendar agenda item to suspend enforcement of provisions of the light industrial manufacturing zone around Bryant Street generated debate and alleviated some confusion and consternation. While the zoning allows for real estate offices, it currently prohibits professional and administrative offices. This discrepancy proved problematic for several Bryant Street landlords.
