Cameron Kunde’s road to the California State Track and Field Championships took a unique turn Friday afternoon. After winning the 800-meters at the CIF Southern Section Championships May 20, Kunde was on the outside looking in because, despite winning the Division 4 race, his time was just outside the top 12 times needed to advance to the State Finals.

The Ojai Roadrunners, the only organized Track and Field Club serving youth in and around the Ojai Valley, completed its 40th anniversary season in May. The season culminated with nine Roadrunner athletes competing at the 7th Annual Southern California Co-Conference Youth Track

McNeil earns golf MPV honors at NHS

Caleb McNeil helped the Nordhoff High School (NHS) golf team to a 6-11 record this season and earned team Most Valuable Player honors. He also was named to the All Tri-Valley League second team in the process. McNeil posted an 86.6 average on the season and shot a personal-best round of 79 earlier this year.

Also earning all-league honors was Jesse Brooks, who finished his season



York propels team to top position in Sundowners

Thanks to the play of Troy York, the Weapons of Grass Destruction rocketed to the top of the Sundowner Golf League leader board this week. York had two birdies and cialis without perscription instructions an eagle on his way to firing a gross round of 33. Additionally, he beat the lowest score



Robison tapped to take over Nordhoff boys’ soccer program

Nordhoff High School recently announced Todd Robison will take over as head coach of the Nordhoff boys’ soccer program. Robison has been coaching local AYSO all-star teams.

Nordhoff High School athletic director Rene Nakao-Mauch recently announced the school has hired Todd Robison to take over the boys’ soccer program. Robison currently splits time as a teacher between Nordhoff and Matilija Junior High.

Slice wins Team Tennis title

Slice dominated the Storm in the finals of the World Team Tennis, 34-10. The two division champions played for the second time this season, with Slice taking both matches.

Local rowers honored with sportsmanship award

The Casitas Rowing Junior Team was honored with the Outstanding Sportsmanship Award at the Youth Regional Championships earlier this month. USA Rowing presented the award during the regatta that saw 39 teams from six states and featured more than 1,500 competitors. Casitas Rowing is currently registering athletes (grades six through 12) for summer classes. Visit www.casitasrowing.org for more information.

Despite winning his second consecutive CIF Southern Section Division Championship in the 800-meter run, Nordhoff High School (NHS) senior Cameron Kunde’s run at a CIF State title appears to have come to an end.

Kunde won the D4 race in a time of 1:55.57, which was .32 of a second away from advancing to the CIF Masters meet

Players and coaches from the Nordhoff High School football program were on hand to meet and greet golfers at the Ranger Gridiron golf tournament fundraiser Saturday.

Saturday, the Nordhoff High School (NHS) Ranger Gridiron Club held its annual golf fundraiser and according to new head coach Lance Wiggins, the event was a huge success. “We had an outstanding day and http://caifc.ca/cheap-generic-cialis we were pretty much at capacity. We had 96 golfers and a bunch of volunteers there helping to make the event successful,” said Wiggins.

According to Wiggins, the tournament brought in $13,500 and after expenses, the program



Borland and Bennecke win Front Nine Member-Guest Tournament

The Soule Park Ladies Front Nine Golf Club finished its 2016 spring session under gray skies last week. The final event was the club’s Member-Guest Tournament that was played using the Callaway scoring system. Carole Borland and her guest, Denise Bennecke, shot a net 32 to capture the tournament title. Second place went to Mitnee Duque and Meredy Benson Rice with a net of 33.5 while Linda Conrad and Mary Dial netted 34 for third. The Conrad-Dial team also had fewest putts with 12. The club will have its free golf clinic, led by golf pro Tyson York, next Thursday with the awards dinner to be held June 2. The next Front Nine session will begin June 23 and will include eight weeks of mini-tournaments, a free golf clinic and an end-of-year dinner. Ojai Golf Classic will be moving to Soule Park

The 16th annual Ojai Golf Classic will be held June 4 at Soule Park Golf Course. After 15 years of hosting this charity event at the Ojai Valley Inn, both the Ojai Education Foundation and the Ojai Valley Youth Foundation (the benefiting nonprofit groups), decided it was time for a change.

The money raised at the tournament each year goes into programs that support the youth and getting cialis schools in the Ojai Valley. It has been with the help of local supporters and businesses

A handful of Nordhoff High School track-and-field athletes are heading to the CIF Southern Section Division Finals this weekend in Cerritos.

As expected, senior middle-distance runner Cameron Kunde is rounding into form and should challenge for a CIF State medal in the 800-meter run.

At last week’s CIF-SS prelims in Carpinteria, Kunde earned the No. 1 seed in D-4 after finishing
